SynFoam syntactic Foam Logo
castable syntactic foam products

SynFoam SG is a microsphere based castable syntactic foam that is ideal for use in projects where the cost of machining is impractical. SG syntactic foam is supplied as a two component system that can be mixed and poured into complex shapes. Waste is eliminated and the surface quality is typically excellent, providing a better finish than other low density foams made of PU and HDPE. SG has been used in many ROV, AUV, HOV, UUV and large buoyancy modules, composite ships as well as in the manufacture of identification tags for various forms of aquatic life. SynFoam SG can also be used for subsea mooring buoyancy modules and underwater pumps.

SynFoam SG is available as two component, cubic foot kits. Each kit contains an A and B side that must be mixed together prior to casting. Cure is achieved within 24 hours and full properties will be realized after 7 days at room temperature. Densities can be customized to the user's specifications. Please consult the appropriate instructions for limitations of depth of cure.

If you have a specific mold for use with SynFoam SG we also provide final syntactic foam casting and fabrication services. Services include casting and finishing with a quality marine based paint.
